Our apprentices visit Makita UK

Our apprentices recently visited Makita UK’s headquarters in Milton Keynes as part of their ongoing development, gaining valuable insight into the latest battery technology and electric motor innovation.

The visit gave them the opportunity to learn more about how modern tools and technology are shaping the future of the construction industry.

Hands-on learning

During the visit, the group explored Makita’s approach to innovation, with a focus on battery-powered and low-emission solutions. The session helped apprentices better understand the engineering behind the tools they use every day and how the industry continues to evolve.

One of the highlights of the day was the chance to try the equipment themselves, giving apprentices hands-on experience with the latest technology in a practical setting.

Investing in future skills

The visit forms part of our ongoing commitment to developing apprentices and ensuring our teams have the skills and knowledge needed for the future.

By working with leading industry organisations such as Makita UK, we continue to strengthen our apprenticeship programme and provide meaningful real-world learning opportunities.

Our assistant director of people and organisational development, Matt Price, said:

“It was a fantastic day for our apprentices. Being able to see the technology up close, understand how it’s developed, and then use it themselves really brings learning to life. Experiences like this are a key part of our apprenticeship programme and support us as we continue to improve and evolve our services.”

Supporting innovation in housing services

As the housing sector continues to adapt to new technologies and sustainability requirements, it’s important that we continue developing our understanding of modern tools and systems.

Visits like this not only support the personal development of our apprentices, but also help us continue delivering high-quality, efficient services for our residents.
