Resident voice round-up – March 2026

March has been a full and positive month for our Resident Voice team, with activity taking place right across our communities and even more ways for residents to get involved. It’s been great to be out and about more, especially during the Great British Spring Clean, making the most of the sunshine while spending time in our neighbourhoods and hearing directly from residents. Wherever you live, we remain committed to making sure your voice is heard and valued.

From Friday 13 March – Friday 27 March, our teams were out in our communities helping to keep neighbourhoods clean, tidy and welcoming places to live. Thank you to everyone who took the time to come and speak to us. We hope the Great British Spring Clean inspires everyone to keep the momentum going, helping to create litter-free communities we can all feel proud of.

Here is an overview of the activities:

  • We collected approximately 112 bags of litter.
  • We removed large items such as fridge freezers, mattresses and tyres.
  • We found phones, keys, drums, photo frames and more.
  • We spoke to many residents about grounds maintenance and told them more about what we were doing in their communities.
  • We worked with Thetford Town Councils, Serco and Flagship to highlight how we all play a vital part in keeping our neighbourhoods clean and tidy.

In Haverhill and the surround areas

If you don’t already know me, I am Demi, the resident voice officer for Haverhill and the surrounding areas. Here is what I have been up to:

  • I attended a coffee morning at The Link in Haverhill. We know that attending our drop-in’s can be daunting for some people and these smaller coffee mornings are a great chance to share your thoughts, ask questions, or get help with any housing-related issues, all over a cuppa. I will be attending these coffee mornings every other month and we will share the dates with you on social media and in Havebury Highlights.
  • I also met with Haverhill police and West Suffolk Council about restarting the resident’s association on both the Clements and Chalkstone Estates. We are still looking for community champions in Haverhill, if this sounds like something you would be interested in, you can find out more here.
  • We also held a resident drop-in on the Clements Estate, which was also attended by our Sustainability team. We discussed issues with pathways and what was our responsibility vs the local council, you can find out more here. Our Sustainability team spoke to residents about how we can help them increase the energy ratings on their homes.
  • I am also working with residents in Clare and Haverhill on some green space projects. Based on community feedback, we are looking to add some wildflower areas and improving the ability to maintain certain areas. Keep your eyes on our social media channels for more information about these projects.

In Bury St Edmunds and the surrounding areas

If you don’t already know me, I am Jordan, the resident voice officer for Bury St Edmunds and the surrounding areas. Here is what I have been up to:

  • We had some great responses to our call for community champions and I am working with those residents who have already applied. If you think this would be something you would like to be a part of you can find out more here.
  • As part of the Great British Spring Clean, I also attended the Mildenhall check-in, and the Priors Estate (working with the Priors association).
  • We are also working with Suffolk police on anti-social behaviour issues. We joined the police at a pop-up event at the Southgate community centre to talk to residents and the wider community about any ASB issues they were having. This was a great opportunity to highlight how we work with our community partners to tackle issues where we have homes.
  • I also attended Beetons Lodge (one of our independent living schemes) to help with hosting sporting memories. Sporting memories uses the power of sport to support older people, including those living with dementia, depression, or facing loneliness.
  • As part of our ongoing commitment to our residents and communities I am working with the Neighbourhood and Estates team to make some improvements to Lambert House. I am just about to publish a survey to ask the residents what they would like to see in their outdoor communal areas and how we can help them achieve this.
