Resident voice round-up – February 2026

February has been another busy month for our Resident Voice team, with events taking place across our communities and new opportunities for residents to get involved. We remain committed to making sure that no matter where you live, your voice matters.

Following resident feedback in 2025, many of you told us you would like us to be more visible outside of Bury St Edmunds and Haverhill, particularly in areas where travelling can be difficult.

With this in mind, we hosted a pop-up session at Brandon Library to ensure residents in other areas had the opportunity to speak with us locally.

We had some great conversations with members of the wider community, and local children enjoyed taking part in colouring activities.

Events like these are important to us as we continue trying to reach the quieter or “silent” voices within our communities.

We hosted our latest drop-in at Havebury House, welcoming 16 residents on the day.

Our drop-ins are designed to give residents the opportunity to speak to a range of teams face to face. Many residents have told us how valuable it is to put faces to the names they usually speak to on the phone.

Resident feedback included:

“The drop in event on Tuesday 17 Feb 2026 was extremely worthwhile. The whole team were very friendly and welcoming. They organised everything we asked and gave invaluable advice.”

“I found the drop in very rewarding.”

Thank you to everyone who attended and shared their feedback.

🏘 Bury St Edmunds North Check-In

Our neighbourhood check-ins allow us to dedicate focused time to specific areas and strengthen partnership working with local authorities.

By being present within neighbourhoods, residents can speak to us without needing to travel. Two residents attended the Bury North check-in to raise local matters and share feedback.

These sessions also give us the opportunity to work closely with partners such as the local council to address issues collaboratively.

This month we also launched recruitment for:

  • Our Community Champions initiative
  • Our Complaints Review Panel

So far we have received:

  • 7 Community Champion applications
  • 4 Complaints Review Panel applications

It’s fantastic to see residents stepping forward to help shape and scrutinise our services. These roles play a vital part in strengthening resident influence across Havebury.

We currently have one final project open for community consultation, the Isleham Primary School playground project.

This means we have now reached the maximum budget for our Community Investment Grant for this financial year. Applications will reopen in April 2026.

Our team has been reviewing and updating our application process to ensure we can continue supporting impactful and meaningful projects in the new financial year.

We hope to see you at one of our upcoming events. As always, your voice matters, wherever you live.
