Green living and recycling

We have a commitment to becoming a green living organisation as well as help support you to be greener too.

You can find out more about our commitment to sustainability in our Sustainability Strategy.

The internet is full of useful advice from organisations like Energy Saving Trust, Uswitch and many more. Take a look at the list below to see how you can be greener in your day-to-day life:

Bin collections and recycling

We all need to do our bit for the planet, so make sure you know how to recycle your waste. Click one of the links below to find out more about your bin collection day.

If you have a communal bin area, please keep this area tidy. The bin area is for general waste only and recycling. If the bins are contaminated the local council will not empty them. It costs money every time we attend to clean the area or an overspilling bin. This is generally a cost that is recharged back to residents.

If the bin is already full, please place rubbish neatly within the bin store or wait until the bins are empty.

We do not tolerate fly-tipping of any kind, and neither should you.

You can report any kind of fly-tipping to us anonymously by calling our Neighbourhood and Estates team on 0300 3300 900, entering extension number 7333 when prompted, or you can report it via the myHavebury app.

Garden waste

This is an optional subscription service, which collects compostable garden waste only. This waste might include dead flowers, grass cuttings, and sawdust. Each council will run it’s own service so please check with your local council to find out more.

Recycling centres

Recycling and refuse centres are available across the counties and can help with things like, batteries, old paint cans, larger white good etc.

Find out more by visiting your local council’s website where you will find your nearest recycling centre.
