4. Description: Dog kennel services. Basildon Borough Council (the "Council") wishes to select a licensed kennel supplier to provide Dog Kennelling and Stray dog out of hour’s collection service. Kennels must be licensed for kennelling stray dogs in accordance with the Animal Boarding Establishment Act 1963.
The kennels need to be within a ten mile radius of the Basildon Borough Council offices, this requirement is due to operational reasons in relation to the delivery and collection of the dogs.
The Council in accordance with the Social Value Act 2012 will require the contractor to actively participate in the acheivement of certain social policy objectives and accordingly, particular contract conditions may relate to social considerations including e.g provisions regarding local training.
