4. Description: Mechanical engineering installation works. Gas appliances. Gas appliance maintenance services. Southend Borough Council’s Department of Place wish to appoint a contractor to provide annual servicing and 24 hour responsive repairs to boilers and gas appliances to a wide range of non domestic public buildings within the Borough, including care homes, libraries, school’s and museums

The maximum response time required for emergency works under this contract is 2 hours and contractors applying must have the capacity to attend to several emergency calls at the same time.

The duration of the contract will be three years with an option of a two year extension. The proposed commencement date is 1st April 2014.

The value of the contract is approximately £50,000 per annum which is based on historical information and could vary during the course of the contract.

All potential contractors must be on the UK Gas Safety Register.

Please submit your request to tender no later than 12 noon on Friday 17th January 2014. The tenders will be sent out by e-mail on Tuesday 21st Jan 2014 with a return date of 12th February 2014.

The returned tenders will be considered against an evaluation ratio of 70% for price and 30% for quality.
