Library furniture. Tender was run to purchase Library Shelving for the Forum. The Forum is a joint development between the Council, the University of Essex and South Essex College. The Forum will comprise of a four storey building, plus a part basement, located at Elmer Square in the centre of Southend-on-Sea. The building will provide the following accommodation:

• An integrated municipal and academic library including approximately 3,500 linear metres of shelving in the 1st floor non-fiction section, 500 linear metres in adult fiction on the ground floor and a Children’s Library on the ground floor.

• A 203 seat lecture theatre, six 40-seat teaching rooms and a student study area providing individual and group study spaces for up to 350 students for the University of Essex alongside accommodation for academic and support staff.

• A Higher Education centre for South Essex College on the third floor comprising five general teaching rooms, two IT teaching rooms and a range of individual and group study spaces.

• The Focal Point Gallery with three gallery areas, offices and workspace on the ground floor.
