4. Description: Health and social work services. Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) has been awarded a capital grant from central government to promote the quality, volume and range of short break services, available to disabled children, young people and their families in Hertfordshire.

The priority for this funding is to increase the access to sport and leisure facilities for children and young people aged 0-19 years with disabilities. Through accessing these services children and young people should have the opportunity to achieve their potential, make choices about their lives and have fun. It will also support parents/carers of these children by providing access to a wider range of venues, social leisure and short break activities within their local community through new and improved facilities.

The total grant budget is £713k and we are looking to fund a range of different projects that benefit disabled children and young people across Hertfordshire in line with the purpose of the funds. Please see the guidance for further information.
