Could you be our community champion?

We’re pleased to let you know that we’re trialling a new initiative, community champions.

Our community champions will act as a link between us and our communities, sharing feedback, raising concerns and helping us understand the things that matter most to you. By working closely with our champions, we want to respond more quickly and effectively, ensuring every community has a strong, confident voice.

But before we get started, we want your help to shape what this role looks like. We want to make sure it reflects your priorities and focuses on what’s important in your local area.

To do this, we’re running two workshops where you can help us scope and develop the role. If you’re passionate about your community and have ideas or solutions that could make a difference, we’d love to hear from you.

You don’t need any special skills or experience, just a desire to help make your estate an even better place to live.

If you’re interested in becoming a community champion, we’ll provide support, training and incentives to thank you for your time and keep you updated on how your feedback is making an impact.

Please note that the workshops, and the champion role itself, aren’t a platform for raising individual issues. Instead, this is a community-led initiative focused on improving your area for you, your family and your neighbours.

We’d love you to join us at one of the following sessions:

  • Thursday 27 November at Havebury House, Western Way, Bury St Edmunds between 5.30pm – 7.00pm
  • Wednesday 3 December at Haverhill Ex-Servicemen’s Club, Lords Croft Lane, Haverhill between 5.30pm – 7.00pm

At the workshop, we’ll share our early ideas, listen to yours and work together to shape the role description. Each session will be held in a private room with our Resident Voice team. If you’d prefer to share your thoughts privately rather than in a group, just let us know and we can arrange a call or a quieter chat.

We’ll also be providing pizza and soft drinks. Please confirm your attendance by emailing residentvoice@havebury.com, letting us know which evening you’ll be joining us, by Friday 21 November.

Thank you for being part of this journey, we’re really looking forward to hearing from you.
