4. Description: Construction work. Gymnasium construction work. Chelmsford Sport & Athletics Centre – Extension of building to create new fitness facility
This Regional Indoor Athletics Training Centre is located within the Melbourne area of Chelmsford and was constructed in 2002. It is now proposed to extend the building creating a new first floor fitness facility. The facility is designed by Peter Emptage Associates and Planning Consent was granted in July 2012. The works will include a significant structural element, plus new services and internal fixtures and fittings. It is proposed to commence the works in early May 2013 and complete by September 2013. The facility will remain substantially in use throughout the works and it is currently the home for Chelmsford Athletics Club and Chelmsford City FC.

Initial selection will be on the basis of information provided in a Pre-Qualification Questionnaire, obtainable from procurement@chelmsford.gov.uk and returnable by 16:00 on Monday 14 January 2013.
