PAE Buyers

The PAE represents 15 Essex Local Authorities, Essex County Fire & Rescue Service and St Georges Community Housing and provides procurement related support and training for its members and encourages and facilitates collaborative procurement and best practices in procurement.

The PAE Procurement Portal, which is a national pre-qualification service for the public sector, brings buyers into direct contact with suppliers for all the products and services purchased by the public sector across Essex.

The use of the BiP Select Service assists the PAE achieve its procurement aims by:

  1. Improving efficiency by sharing a single simplified procurement process
  2. Gaining greater knowledge about the Essex supplier community
  3. Maintaining a central database of prequalification information to avoid duplication
  4. Facilitating the engagement of SMEs and third sector organisations
